Project Manager for Shipbuilding, Batam area

A shipyard/shipbuilding company at Batam is looking for candidate to fill in this prosition:

Project Manager (Shipbuilding)

Reporting to :
New Building / Shiprepair Manager

Primary function :
To manage the shipbuilding projects to meet the performance target of the individual projects and long and short term goals of the company

Scope of Duties :
- Overall responsibility for Project Management of shipbuilding contracts
- Develop & implement the action plans &processes for effective management of shipbuilding assigned
- Identify, assess, manage & mitigate risks associated with assigned projects
- Regular planning and performance review of assigned shipbuilding, and regularly updating New Building Manager on their respective progress
- Conduct VSCC meetings and co-ordinate dangerous work onboard assigned vessels to ensure no Lost Time Incident (LTI) occurs
- Lead and motivate respective project team to meet the project targets & performance targets of the company

Subordinate staff directly supervised :
- Contractors' Supervisors
- Production Trade Supervisors
- Safe Officers and Assistants Indirectly

Level of decision making :
- All operational decisions within his authority limits
- Recommend decisions outside his authority limits to New Building Manager

Qualifications required :
- Diploma/ Trade certificate in Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Diploma or any professional qualifications in Project Management would be an advantage
- A relevant locally or Singapore obtained statutory practicing certificate, such as Certificate for Shiprepair Managers from Singapore Ministry of Manpower, etc
- Professional safety qualification from any internationally recognized regulatory body, if any

Experience required :
- 5 years in shipyard operational positions of which 2 years as Project Manager (Shipbuilding)
