Amarsons Consultancy has a requirement for Principal/Senior Mechanical Engineer

Pre-requisite knowledge, experience & skills
• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing or relevant
qualifications.
• At least 5 years experience in designing and developing automated equipment.
• 3D Solid Modeling, preferably Pro-E (others like Solid Edge,
AutoInventor, Mechanical Desktop, Solid Designer are also acceptable).
• Ultra High Precision machine design.
• High Speed Pick and place mechanism design.
• Structural, kinematics and dynamic analysis and FEA simulation
• Geometrical tolerance and dimensional analysis. (e.g. stack up error)
• New technical and process studies, testing and evaluation.
• Good knowledge of FMEA/DOE.
• Knowledge of engineering material properties and selection.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Pneumatic & fluid circuit design.

Job Description:
• Design and develop machine to meet the system specifications
(required by process/automation needs) in terms of
 Performance
 Feature
 Reliability/Durability
 Maintainability
 Serviceability
 COO
 Safety
 Aesthetic
• Design standardisation
• Costing and project planning.
• Machine and module conceptualisation design
• Design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and
Concurrent engineering
• Pneumatic/hydraulic circuit design.
• Detail fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and layout drawings.
• Selection and sizing of standard components available off the shelf.
• Engineering material selection.
• Geometrical tolerance and dimensional analysis. (e.g. stack up error)
• Assembly, testing and debugging of prototypes.
• Reverse engineering / Value engineering.
• Technology benchmarking.
• Reliability and feasibility test.
• Establish the 3D exploded view, assembly procedure and critical
control parameters checklist for assembly team to write the assembly
work instruction.
• Establish the preventive maintenance, spare parts and
trouble-shooting list for the machine manual.
• Design troubleshooting.
• Application of analysis tools like FMEA, DOE
• Collaboration with institutes and universities
• Technology alliance and partnership with vendors
• Establishment of `Green Book'
