Requirement for Oracle DBA


Dear Techies

We have an immediate opening for Oracle DBA

Responsibilities:

Database design, installation, partitioning, ILM, administration,
backup and recovery, capacity planning and performance and tuning
Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
Monitoring and optimizing the performance of databases
Expertise in the installation, configuration, performance tuning and
troubleshooting of Oracle 10g databases, AIX and Red Hat Linux
flavors
Involved in the performance tunings of SQL's, PL/SQL's, Functions,
Procedures and Triggers for achieving maximum performance and
minimizing run time
Ensuring compliance to the guidelines on change management and
quality assurance
Index creation, rebuilds, re-org etc
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment is critical
Ability to work proactively and on own initiative
Good documentation, time management, and project management skills

Requirements: -

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in
Engineering (Computer/Telecommu nication) , Computer
Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• 4-5 years of DBA expertise in Oracle Database
• Minimum of 2-3 years of Oracle 10g administration skills are
must
• Working knowledge on Real Application Cluster (RAC), Maximum
Availability Architecture( MAA)
• Shell scripting, Unix and Linux admin skills would be
preferred
• Expert-level knowledge of enterprise backup/restore
mechanisms
• Database design, installation, partitioning, ILM,
administration, backup and recovery, capacity planning and
performance and tuning
• Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
• Monitoring and optimizing the performance of databases
• Expertise in the installation, configuration, performance
tuning and troubleshooting of Oracle 10g databases, AIX and Red Hat
Linux flavors

• Ensuring compliance to the guidelines on change management

• Index creation, rebuilds, re-org etc
• In Depth Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
• Understanding of differences between the various oracle
flavors i.e. Standard, Enterprise etc.
• Worked with and understand Large Objects i.e. CLOBs, BLOBs
etc.
• Understanding of Networking, including TCP/IP protocols
• Proficient in Database refresh scenarios i.e. Exports,
Imports, Datadump
• Good understanding on SAN Technology
• Must have got good experience in coordinating with various
Data Centre and Infrastructure teams
• Preferably worked on Global application implementations and
Infrastructure setup and upgrade projects
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment is
critical
• Ability to work proactively and on own initiative
• Good documentation, time management, and project management
skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-
disciplinary team
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
