Carbon Conservation, project developer of the CCBA registered Ulu Masen REDD
project is seeking a dynamic results- ‐orientated individual with experience in
forest and carbon standards.

Responsibilities

  • Visit remote field sites and organise/manage field- ‐work to support forest
  • based carbon projects (e.g. Forest stock, carbon stock inventories, baseline
  • assessment)
  • Develop and draft project assessment reports, project design documents and
  • filed- ‐ monitoring reports
  • Assist in the development and review of AFOLU project methodologies
  • Review technical feasibility of forest carbon projects and provide technical
  • feedback to project development team
  • Assist and review of standard remote sensing analysis and procedures


Minimum Skills required are:

  • Fluent writing and reading in Bahasa Indonesia & English languages
  • Experience in biomass inventory and forest stock assessment activates
  • Experience in biomass growth modeling
  • Strong understanding of the policies surrounding avoided deforestation and the
  • carbon markets more broadly
  • Strong understanding of carbon standards and their validation/verification
  • requirements, in particular the VCS, CAR and ideally CDM
  • Detailed knowledge on howto created successful verification submissions


Additional Desired Skills

  • Experience of forestry management techniques (e.g. FCS, LEI, SFM/IFM, RIL)
  • Experience with GIS and remote sensing analysis software
  • Experience with the development of AFOLU project documents


Competencies
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong writing ability (proposal preparation and technical report generation)
Track record of successful delivery of managing multiple projects against
deadlines
Experience in working within a small and regionally dispersed team
Extremely computer literate (i.e. Word, Excel) and willingness to learn new
software tools
Working as a considerate team player in a multi- ‐cultural environment

Educational Background:
BSc or MSc in Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or other applicable
scientific discipline.
