Purdue University – IT Security Engineer
QUALIFICATIONS Required:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years experience in any combination of the following: IT Security infrastructure and/or technology design and/or implementation, IT Security processes and/or applications development and/or support, or IT Security consulting.
- Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analysis, decision making, problem solving and customer service skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Technology, Information Security, or Business degree with IT coursework.
- Experience in a diverse systems environment, with operating systems support, networking support, or IT Security risk assessment experience.
- Digital Forensics experience.
- Project management experience.
- Programming skills such as Perl, Python, shell scripting.
- Working knowledge of computer networking configurations and associated protocol suites, and multiple operating systems.
- Knowledge of Security regulatory compliance (i.e., HIPAA, GLBA).
- CISSP or GIAC certification.
JOB DUTIES
Build and help manage new security services offered to Purdue University such as digital forensics, incident response, and networks security. Design and develop training, processes, tools, and technologies that help reduce risk to Purdue assets. Design, test, and/or implement modifications to security controls and security monitoring tools utilized by the IT Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC). Evaluate and implement security measurements.
