RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As an Infrastructure Architect you will contribute strategic vision as a trusted advisor and integrate a broad range of ideas regarding Technology Architecture as defined by the Enterprise Architect. Recognized across the project for expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems. Undertake the most complex projects involving multiple disciplines which may impact multiple business units. Work as a team member with the cross-functional architectural disciplines to identify requirements and subsequently leading subordinate Infrastructure Technologists in the implementation of the local solution. The Infrastructure Architect will have subordinate reports with specialized infrastructure technology ezpertise. The Infrastructure Architect reports to the Enterprise Architect. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
o Contributes strategic vision as a trusted advisor on the project level
o Recognized across the organization for expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems.
o Undertakes the most complex projects involving multiple disciplines which may impact multiple business units.
o Work as a team member with the cross-functional departments to identify requirements and subsequently leading others in the identification, justification, design and implementation of the overall solution.
o Build, develop and document infrastructure processes with a focus on technology growth, performance, reliability and security.
o Perform infrastructure assessments and audits, develop and implement network and security maintenance plans, regulatory compliance issues, develop and implement business continuity/disaster recovery plans.
o Plan, deploy and support network/server/SAN architecture, equipment and systems, and troubleshoot performance issues.
o Drive costs out of the migration process without sacrificing supportability and stability, and maintaining an innovation around data integrity.
o Lead and mentor assigned subordinates in implementing infrastructure needs.
o Work with customers and project teams to integrate new systems into the end-user environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
o 5+ years of Information Technology experience including technical infrastructure and security experience, including team lead and trusted advisor roles.
o Experience with Windows, network design, architecture, server-based computing and configuration, SAN/NAS/Tape Libraries,
Oracle, HTTPD/Application Server/Database, DNS, NIS, LDAP
o Project planning and project management skills.
o Data center migration experience
o Experience with VMware in large scale production environment. Migration experience preferred.
o Knowledge of virtualization tools such as PlateSpin, CiRBA, VMware capacity planner.
o Demonstrated and documented results executing large scale projects from envisioning stage through implementation.
o Experience delivering externally-facing high performance, high availability systems and large scale infrastructures.
o Process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation experience preferred.
o General understanding of Web-based technology as it relates to the web-hosted model of software delivery.
o Focused and action-oriented; pragmatic and self-disciplined; good at team motivation and delegation.
o Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
o Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
o Excellent communication, writing, meeting facilitation and presentation skills including presenting technical design, technical solutions and enterprise architecture solutions to executives and customers.
o The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
o Ability to have extensive travel greater than 80% to support our clients.
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
o Bachelors or Master degree in Information Technology area.
o Key experience within IT Rationalization/Transformational areas are preferred.
o Expertise in IT Tranformation for Data Center Optimization/ Consolidation and Infrastructure, Security, Networks, Storage, Virtualization,
o Advanced training or certifications such as ITIL and Six Sigma certifications preferred.
o Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
