Vacancy ARC Health and Hygiene Promotion Officer_Simeulue

Australian Red Cross is currently seeking Health and Hygiene Promotion Officer, to be based in Simeulue, as part of theARC Tsunami Response Team.

Essential Requirements :
· Ability to organise and deliver community-based health and hygiene promotion activities
· Good community participatory skills to motivate and engage the community in project implementation and ownership
· Team orientated person willing to share ideas in an open and positive manner
· High level verbal and written communication skills (Bahasa Indonesian and English)
· Knowledge of Red Cross activities and commitment to Red Cross Principles
· Excellent health; physically and mentally capable of working in stressful environments, and to meet program deadlines
· Willingness and capacity to work in remote isolated areas with basic living conditions


Qualification :
· Tertiary qualifications in Public Health, Community Development or an associated discipline

Desirable
· Experience in health and hygiene promotion
· Excellent health knowledge, and in particular knowledge of the PHAST methodology
· Experience implementing community-based projects including assessments and needs based planning and community development
· Excellent data collection and recording, and report writing, skills
· Knowledge of Simeulue Island – infrastructure, people, and culture
