Our Client, a leading oil and gas exploration company in Qatar and Abu Dhabi is seeking qualified candidates to join their team in Middle East Drilling Projects as:
HSE Team Leader from a strong drilling background.
Job Purpose:
To plan, direct, control and supervise the activities of a team of professional Safety and Loss prevention and Environment engineers to ensure full implementation of the division's HSE programs and procedures. Incorporate provision of HSE support to field management in line with HSE policies to promote the HSE culture in the assigned area. Support and provide proper guidance to the field management in the preparation, development and implementation of the division's Health, Safety & Environment Management System (HSEMS) and other programs/procedures and improving environment related issues. Ensure the implementation of the divisional HSE plan, own team HSE plan and provides professional consultations for the development, implementation and monitoring of HSE plans of other departments in the assigned division, conducts necessary HSE audits and inspections to ensure proper implementation of such plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned personnel in the HSE Team
- Ensure the technical and engineering aspect related to health, safety, loss prevention and environment are undertaken effectively
- Develop and direct all activities related to Health, safety, loss prevention and environment by implementing environmental control mechanisms and systems
- Support and provide guidance to the field management in the preparation, development and implementation of the divisions Health, safety and environment management system
Education and Experience
- Bsc in Chemical/Mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 12 years experience with at least 8 years in an operating petrochemical plant. Minimum 5 years in supervisory position
- Good IT knowledge
- Please note that a strong drilling background is essential
