Windows Engineer
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *
*Design, implement & maintain Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & 2008
environments
*Exchange Server 2003 to 2007 migration planning & implementation for a high
availability distributed environment
Re-architecture of our growing *Active Directory* environment
Implement & manage our *Symantec Backup* Exec system
Implement platform virtualization solutions using *VMWare *
Management of Windows applications including SQL server, Share Point,
Project server
Deployment of appropriate security patches, hot fixes, and software updates
Participate in the design and deployment of basic network architectures
Participates in the development of policies & procedures across the
organization
Keeps up-to-date documentation of applications & systems
Enforces standards and educates employees about compliance issues
Communicate to non-technical constituents, both internal and external
regarding projects and issues.
Provide knowledge transfer to operations team
Ability to manage multiple priorities and time
Ability to travel nationally and work long hours
Must be a team player
*EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:*
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
*MCSE/MCTS/ MCITP, VCP* and or greater certifications preferred
10+ years experience managing an Enterprise server infrastructure daily
operations or Consulting with server technologies:
Dell servers
HP servers
Tape Libraries and Backup exec
Active Directory Services (DFS/Group policy)
Share Point Services
SQL Server
Project Server
Citrix
*OCS *
Exchange
*DNS *
VMware
BlackBerry Enterprise Services
Microsoft DFS
Altiris CMS
Some basic understand Unix services (Linux/Solaris)
