I am a recruiter assisting a growing company located in La Jolla, CA to identify and hire a talented, motivated, and creative scientist with expertise in Polymer Science and Coatings Technology. Job Qualifications:
The candidate should have an advanced degree in materials science, polymer science, chemistry, or related field and have 5-10 years of relevant research experience in coatings development. Specific knowledge in the technical aspects of coating formulation, product development, performance characterization, and application is preferred.
 
Specific experiences in the following areas are important:
Polymer/organic synthesis
Polymer functionality
Resin synthesis
Coating formulation
Curing process
Polymeric adhesives chemistry
Two-component based paint formulations (polyurethane and epoxy)
Additives for coatings
Nanomaterial fabrication and characterization
 
Self-motivated candidates with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely and safe manner; strong interpersonal, problem solving skills; excellent record keeping; the ability to work in a dynamic cross-disciplinary environment; knowledge of good laboratory practices; the ability to design and conduct a meaningful experimental plan; demonstrated capability to quickly reduce ideas to practice in the laboratory; the desire and adaptability to master new technology are encouraged to apply.
