QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year experience developing web applications.
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
  • Ability to define, develop, and implement  web applications built on a thoroughly articulate design rational.
  • Effective consulting, presentation, influencing, ýcollaboration, and time-management skills.
  • A working understanding of cross-browser/platform web development issues.
  • Creative and comfortable learning and using new technologies.
  • A working understanding of cross-browser/platform web development issues.
  • Ability to design, propose, and manage multiple projects independently and ýýconsistently to meet tight deadlines with quality results in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain ýrelationships with customers and colleagues.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Computer Technology, Computer Science or related fields.
  • Web application development experience with ASP .NET, ColdFusion, JAVA, or PHP.
  • Experience developing web applications using MS SQL or Oracle databases.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and XML.

JOB DUTIES

The Web Application Programmer is responsible for the design, development and implementation of web applications for ýInformation Technology at Purdue. The Web Application Programmer ýwill work as part of a team to develop ýinnovative web applications through incorporation of ýmodern web technology. Prepare logical database/file design. Maintain project ýýdocumentation and related materials. ýWork ýwith clients to assess and interpret end-user web application needs. ýIn addition, this position will ýwork closely ýwith client areas to identify needs and develop creative solutions focused on interactivity and ýease of use. This position also involves staying current with emerging web ýtechnologies and recommending ýdevelopment techniques that will support Purdue's computing capabilities.ý
