Position Responsibilities - Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Software Development, a Senior
Software Engineer is responsible for overseeing and participating in
development efforts for external customers and/or internal projects.
· Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle
· Evaluates and makes recommendation on development related
technologies
· Works with business users to design user-friendly applications
Required Skills and Competencies:
Minimum requirements
· 5+ years (recent) WinForms software/application development
experience
· 2+ years using .NET (2.0/3.5), VS2005/2008, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET,
web services/WCF
· Minimum of 2 years experience with Object Oriented Programming
· Oracle or SQL Server Hibernate
· Experience developing/building an n-tier application
· Knowledge of Multithreading (Asynchronous Programming)
· Must have experience with XSD, XML structures and schemas
· Familiarity with Agile Development
· Experience with XSLT a plus
Abilities required
· Ability to work independently
· Comfortable working directly with clients
· Ability to accurately estimate development efforts
· Ability to work effectively on multiple efforts simultaneously
· Good team player
· Insurance industry experience a plus
· Mentoring capabilities
