Our client is an independent energy resources development company with businesses throughout the energy supply chain. They have a vacant position for a Senior Drilling Engineer in their Jakarta office which is to be filled immediately.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for all drilling engineering activities which will include well and rig inspection, pressure control, well design, preparation of drilling programmes, the drilling of wells and workover operations under the supervision of Subsurface Manager. The candidate will ensure that the Company's operations are achieving business objectives and schedule completion, efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant degree
- 15 years+ work experience with a strong operating company
- Relevant hands on experience in all aspects of related drilling activities as mentioned above
- Knowledge and understanding of well pressure control (blowout prevention, drilling and coring bits, well deviation, fishing, drilling locations for exploration ventures in remote areas, derrick loading determination, calculation of maximum allowable wear of Kelly, drill string design, calculation of loads in wire, drilling hydraulics calculations, calculation of dogleg angle and severity, calculation of bore hole position and fishing
- Possess good analytical drilling engineering skills
- Written and oral communication, presentation and reporting skills are also essential to ensure effective deployment and utilisation of the exploration and development department deliverables
- The ability to coach and mentor junior team members
