Manufacturing Engineer (Texas, Texas, United States)



 

Our client is a division of a world-class Tier 1 supplier to the   large   heavy duty/heavy equipment industry.   Their plants are    state of the art air conditioned facilities located in    Texas.    

 

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve current production lines, and develop new production lines and cells at both facilities.   Their precision machining processes use CNC, Special Machines, and Transfer Lines.

 

General requirements:

          15 years minimum metal cutting experience

          5 years minimum AutoCAD experience

          Excellent knowledge of GD&T required

          Manual CNC programming a plus

          Hands on HMC experience a plus

          Automated machining experience a plus

 

SUMMARY: The purpose of this job is to satisfy customer requirements by establishing and modifying manufacturing processes, tools, machines and cell layouts which efficiently and safely produce parts to Customer, Company and TS16949 standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Study functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of work units and to identify areas of duplications.

 

Establish work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

 

Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.

 

Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

 

Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.

 

Other responsibilities may be assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May directly supervise employees in the Engineering department.  Capable of carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
